What is an Age, Nationality and Domicile Certificate?
It is an administrative certificate issued by the competent Maharashtra revenue authority on the basis of the applicant's eligibility and supporting records. Age refers to the applicant's date of birth or age established from acceptable evidence; nationality concerns the applicant's claimed citizenship status supported by documents; and domicile generally concerns a person's legally relevant permanent home and intention to reside, assessed under the applicable rules and purpose of the certificate.

The receiving institution's eligibility rules govern whether this certificate is sufficient. A domicile certificate does not itself confer Indian citizenship or replace a passport or other citizenship determination.
How to apply online through Aaple Sarkar
- Open the official Aaple Sarkar login page.
- If you are a new user, choose New User? Register Here. Follow the current portal instructions; registration may offer alternative identity and profile-verification methods.
- Select your district, create a username, enter your mobile number and complete OTP verification as prompted.
- Complete the applicant profile, including personal information, date of birth, current and permanent address, mobile number, identity details and photograph where requested.
- Upload identity and address proofs and finish registration. Keep your username and password secure.
- Log in and select the Revenue Department or Revenue and Forest Department service category.
- Choose Age, Nationality and Domicile Certificate and select Apply.
- Complete the application accurately, upload the documents requested for your circumstances, and review the declarations.
- Pay the displayed fee, submit the application and save the application or acknowledgement number.
The earlier portal workflow included two registration options, district selection, OTP verification, applicant and address details, photograph, identity and address proofs, followed by service selection and submission. The live portal may change its screen labels or sequence.

The older document guidance also referred to Form-2, Form-3 and Form-A-1 affidavits, extracts from birth registers of relatives, family school-leaving or admission records, caste or tribe validity certificates where relevant, and records of ordinary residence. These are not universal mandatory documents for every applicant. Upload only those required by the current service checklist and your particular circumstances.

- Visit the Aaple Sarkar portal and log in using your registered credentials.
- Open the application history, transaction history or application tracking facility available on the portal.
- Find the Age, Nationality and Domicile Certificate application using its acknowledgement or application number.
- Review whether the application is under scrutiny, requires additional documents or payment, has been approved, or has been rejected.
- If approved, use the available certificate viewing or download option and retain a copy for your records.
