Search District and Taluka Court Case Status by Party Name
The official eCourts Services portal allows users to search District and Taluka Court cases by the name of a party. The search may be made using the name of a petitioner, plaintiff, complainant, respondent, defendant, appellant, accused or other party recorded in the case.

What is Search by Party Name?
Search by Party Name is the eCourts Petitioner/Respondent search facility. You can enter the party name in full or in part. The current official instructions require at least three characters of the party name.
The party may be recorded in different capacities, including Petitioner, Plaintiff, Complainant, Respondent, Defendant, Appellant, Accused or Extra Party. Searching with a distinctive part of the name can therefore be useful where the complete spelling is not known.
Steps to search a case by Party Name
- Open the official eCourts Case Status page. Use the official service button above.
- Select the State. Choose the State or Union Territory relating to the concerned District Court.
- Select the District. Choose the district where the case is registered.
- Select the Court Complex. Choose the relevant Court Complex and, where required, the Establishment.
- Select the Petitioner/Respondent search option. This is the Party Name search provided on the Case Status interface.
- Enter the Party Name. Type at least three characters of the name, or enter the full name where known.
- Enter the Case Registration Year. Type the year in which the case was registered.
- Select Pending, Disposed or Both. Choose Pending or Disposed if known. Select Both if you are unsure of the case status.
- Enter the Captcha. Type the five alphanumeric characters shown on the official portal.
- Click "Go". The portal will display cases satisfying the Party Name search criteria.
- Open Case History. Locate the correct case and click the adjacent View button to see the available Case History and case details.
Tips for finding the correct case
If the party has a common name, use the correct registration year and court establishment to narrow the result. The official search accepts a partial name, so a distinctive part of the person's or entity's name can help locate a case even when the complete name or spelling is uncertain.
Always verify the case number, names of parties, court establishment and other identifying information before relying on a result, particularly where several cases contain similar party names.
If you do not know the Party Name
If the Party Name is unknown, eCourts Case Status provides other search methods including Case Number, Filing Number, Advocate Name, FIR Number, Act Type and Case Type. If you know the 16-character alphanumeric CNR number, the CNR search can be used to obtain the current case status and history directly.
