Search District and Taluka Court Cases by Advocate Name Online
The official eCourts Services portal allows users to search District and Taluka Court cases using an advocate's name, Bar Registration Number, or the advocate's date-wise cause list. The search can show matching cases and provide access to case history and current status.

What is a case search by Advocate Name?
A case search by Advocate Name helps locate cases associated with an advocate in a selected District or Taluka Court establishment. The eCourts Case Status service currently provides search choices for Advocate Name, Bar Code / Bar Registration Number and Date Case List (Advocate's Cause List).
If you already know the 16-character CNR number, the official portal also provides a direct CNR search. If the CNR is not known, Case Status can be searched using other available criteria.
Steps to search a case by Advocate Name
- Open the official eCourts District Court Services portal. You can use the official service button above.
- Select "Case Status". This is available from the Search Menu on the eCourts Services interface.
- Select the court details. Choose the State, District and Court Complex. Select the Establishment as well where the portal requires it.
- Choose the Advocate search option. The Case Status page includes search by Advocate among its available criteria.
- Select the type of advocate search. Choose Advocate Name, Bar Code / Bar Registration Number, or Date Case List depending on the information available to you.
- Enter the advocate details. For Advocate Name, the official help permits a full or partial name of at least three characters. For Bar Registration Number, enter the registration particulars in the fields shown by the portal.
- Select the case status. For Advocate Name or Bar Registration Number searches, choose Pending, Disposed or Both, as appropriate.
- For an Advocate Cause List search, select the required date. The official portal provides a date control for the advocate's cause list.
- Enter the Captcha. Type the characters shown on the screen. Use the available refresh or audio option if needed.
- Click "Go". Matching cases will be displayed. Use the available View option to open the case history and details.
Other ways to search District Court case status
If Advocate Name is not suitable, eCourts Case Status can also be searched through other available criteria such as case number, filing number, party name, FIR number, Act and case type. Where a CNR number is available, it is generally the most direct identifier for retrieving the case record.

Search results depend on the information entered and the data made available by the concerned court establishment. Advocates with similar names may produce multiple results, so verify the case number, party names, court establishment and other case particulars before relying on a result.
The online portal is an information-access facility. For filing requirements, certified copies, limitation, court directions or legally binding case records, follow the applicable court rules and directions of the concerned court.
