How to use VAHAN Citizen Services

Open the official portal. Go to VAHAN Citizen Services or reach Vehicle Related Services through Parivahan Sewa. Avoid unofficial payment or login pages.
Select the State/RTO or enter the vehicle details. The portal may ask for the vehicle registration number and the registering authority before showing available services.
Authenticate as prompted. Depending on the service and State/UT, the portal may use the registered mobile number, OTP, account login or another permitted authentication mode.
Choose the required service. Select the applicable RC, tax, NOC, fitness, hypothecation, certificate, permit, appointment or other vehicle-related transaction.
Complete the application. Enter the requested particulars, verify the information, upload documents where required and submit the application.
Pay the prescribed fee/tax. If an online payment is required, use the payment facility shown on the official portal and retain the acknowledgement or receipt.
Track status and attend the RTO if required. Some services may be faceless, while others can require inspection, document verification, a fitness test or a physical visit.
Important: The exact workflow is not identical across India. Forms, supporting documents, authentication, fees, tax rates, faceless availability and RTO-visit requirements can differ by State/UT and by service.
