Delhi Traffic Challan Online: Check, Pay & Verify e-Challan

Use the official Delhi Traffic Police portal to search a pending notice by vehicle number or notice number, pay the applicable amount online, and verify payment status.

Delhi Traffic Police provides an online Notice Branch system for checking pending traffic notices and making payment. The official search page accepts either a vehicle number or a notice number, so you do not normally need to visit a traffic office merely to check a notice or make an eligible online payment.

Official portal: For Delhi Traffic Police notices, use traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/notice/pay-notice. Avoid entering payment details on unverified third-party websites.

Applicable Traffic Law

Road-traffic offences, penalties and enforcement are primarily governed by the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, as amended by the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, together with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, applicable Delhi rules and government notifications. Chapter XIII of the Motor Vehicles Act deals with offences, penalties and procedure. Section 200 provides for composition of specified offences, subject to the applicable legal framework and notifications.

Penalty amounts can change. The Motor Vehicles Act contains provisions concerning revision of fines, and the amount payable in an individual matter may depend on the offence, notification, compounding rules, court proceedings or other circumstances. Rely on the amount displayed in the official notice/portal for your case.

For the statutory text, refer to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 on India Code.
