Protean states that the separate online reprint facility is available to PAN holders whose latest PAN application was processed through Protean (formerly NSDL e-Governance) or who obtained PAN using the Income Tax Department's Instant e-PAN facility.
The separate reprint facility is meant for printing a PAN card with the existing PAN details. It does not provide a facility to change the name, date of birth, address or other PAN data. If PAN details need correction, use the appropriate PAN change/correction process instead.

Where will the reprinted PAN card be delivered?
Protean states that the physical PAN card is dispatched to the communication address available in the latest PAN details held by the Income Tax Department. The separate reprint facility does not provide an option to change PAN data.
If your communication address has changed, update/correct the PAN database through the appropriate PAN correction facility before requesting a physical card, unless an authorised address-update facility applicable to your PAN is available.
Can you download an e-PAN instead?
Protean's current reprint page provides an e-PAN download facility. It states that an e-PAN can be downloaded free of cost for PANs allotted, or PAN changes confirmed by the Income Tax Department, within the preceding 30 days, subject to the conditions shown on the official website.

PAN reprint under the 2026 Income-tax framework
The Income Tax Department confirms that existing PAN and TAN numbers continue to remain valid under the Income-tax Act, 2025. The new forms prescribed from 1 April 2026 apply to fresh applications and related current processes; they do not require existing PAN holders to obtain a new PAN merely because the statutory framework has changed.
