NDMC Birth Certificate Online: Search, View & Download

NDMC provides online services to search and print birth certificates registered within the New Delhi Municipal Council area. Separate official services are also available for still-birth certificates, child-name inclusion, home birth/death registration and correction of records.

This guide links directly to the current official NDMC services instead of relying on older menu screenshots or outdated navigation paths.

Official service: For the safest and most current process, use the NDMC e-services portal directly. Do not enter personal birth-registration details on unofficial third-party forms.

How to Search an NDMC Birth Certificate Online

  1. Open the official NDMC Online Birth Certificate Service.
  2. Search using the Application Number, if available. Alternatively, use the Registration Number and Date of Birth.
  3. If those numbers are not available, use the alternate search section. NDMC currently states that at least two fields must be filled for this type of search.
  4. Available identifying fields include date of birth, gender, father's name, mother's name and place of birth. The portal indicates that the first three characters may be used for the parents' names.

Current Law on Birth Registration

For a person born on or after 1 October 2023, the amended law provides for the birth certificate issued under the Act to be used to prove the date and place of birth for specified purposes, including admission to an educational institution, driving licence, voter-list preparation, marriage registration, certain public appointments, passport and Aadhaar.

Read the statute on the official India Code website. Registration procedure, fees, delayed registration requirements and local implementation should also be checked against the rules and directions applicable in Delhi/NDMC at the time of application.

Other Official NDMC Birth & Death Services

The NDMC website currently lists Birth Certificate, Still-Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Child Name Inclusion, Home Birth and Death Registration and Correction in Birth & Death Certificate among its online civic services.
