How to Search FIR Online in Andhra Pradesh

  1. Open the Official Andhra Pradesh Police Citizen Portal

  2. Select "View FIR" or "FIR Search"

    Open the View FIR or equivalent FIR-search facility provided by Andhra Pradesh Police.

  3. Enter the FIR Details

Can I Download the FIR Copy Online?

Where the online service provides a View, Print or Download FIR option, the available FIR document may be accessed electronically through the portal.

However, not every FIR is necessarily available for unrestricted online viewing or downloading. Availability may depend on the police system, the nature of the case, restrictions applicable to the particular FIR and the current functionality of the Andhra Pradesh Police portal.

FIR Copy and the Current Criminal Procedure Law

The criminal-procedure framework in India changed from the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (CrPC) to the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS), which came into force on 1 July 2024.

Difference Between FIR Search and Complaint Status

An FIR search and a police complaint or petition-status search are not necessarily the same thing.

A complaint submitted to police does not automatically mean that an FIR has been registered. Where a cognizable offence is recorded as an FIR, the FIR number and police-station details can then be used to identify the case.
