Nagpur Police Complaint Status Online

Updated 2026 guide to accessing Nagpur City Police online complaint services, using the Maharashtra Police CCTNS citizen portal and understanding the current BNSS framework for police complaints and FIRs.

Check Nagpur Police complaint status online

Nagpur City Police now provides its online complaint service through the official Maharashtra Police Citizen Services / CCTNS portal. The earlier standalone Nagpur Police complaint-status pages are no longer the current route.

The Maharashtra Police citizen portal is the state-level online service platform for citizen complaints and related police services. A complaint submitted through the portal is forwarded to the concerned police station, and the complainant may be contacted for clarification or for recording a statement.

Steps to check your complaint status

Open the official Nagpur City Police website.

Go to the Nagpur City Police website and use the Online Complaint / Citizen Services link.

Visit Nagpur City Police
Open Maharashtra Police Citizen Services.

Nagpur City Police directs online complaints to the Maharashtra Police CCTNS citizen portal.

Open Citizen Services
Sign in with your citizen account.

Use the account details linked to the complaint or service request. If registration is required, complete the citizen registration process shown on the portal.

Open your complaint or service record.

Use the available complaint, request or service-history option to locate the relevant submission. Keep your complaint number, registered mobile number, email address and other acknowledgement details ready.

Check the latest available status.

Review the status shown by the portal. If the matter has been forwarded to a police station, you may also contact that police station using the acknowledgement or complaint details.

Keep these details ready

  • Complaint or acknowledgement number
  • Registered mobile number
  • Registered email address
  • Date on which the complaint was submitted
  • Name of the police station, if already assigned
  • Copy or screenshot of the complaint acknowledgement

Complaint and FIR under the current BNSS law

The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) came into force on 1 July 2024 and replaced the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for the present criminal-procedure framework.

Section 173 BNSS: deals with information relating to cognizable offences.
Section 174 BNSS: deals with information relating to non-cognizable offences and investigation of such cases.

Section 173 permits information relating to a cognizable offence to be given to the officer in charge of a police station irrespective of the area where the offence was committed, including by electronic communication in the manner prescribed by law.

Important: An online complaint or citizen-service submission should not automatically be treated as an FIR. Whether an FIR is required depends on the nature of the allegations and the applicable criminal-procedure provisions.
