How to Apply for Tenant Verification in Gujarat
- Open the official Gujarat Police Citizen Portal. Use the Home Department portal rather than third-party websites for submitting personal documents.

- Select Tenant Registration. The service may appear under citizen services or e-services.

Current Legal Position: IPC Section 188 Has Been Replaced
The old version of this page referred to section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The IPC was replaced for offences committed from 1 July 2024 by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS).
The corresponding provision is section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which deals with disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant. Liability depends on the existence of a lawful order, knowledge of that order and the circumstances specified in the provision.
