Who are Election agents? Section 40 of Representation of the People Act, 1951

Section 40 : Election agents

A candidate at an election may appoint in the prescribed manner any one person other than himself to be his election agent and when any such appointment is made, notice of the appointment shall be given in the prescribed manner to the returning office.
