Why These Judgments Matter

Election-law judgments shape the interpretation of electoral rights, powers of the Election Commission, electoral rolls, nomination and candidature, corrupt practices, disqualification, election petitions, political-party regulation, transparency in political funding, candidate disclosures and the use of election technology. Because election law is regularly affected by statutory amendments and later judicial decisions, the official sources linked on this page should be checked for the current text and latest orders.
